S.B. 733

VETOES

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed Senate Bill 733.

This bill repeals the requirements that a register of wills distribute fees collected for
providing probate information booklets to the Comptroller and provides the Comptroller
with an individual accounting of the salary and duties of each employee.

House Bill 1212, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May 14,
1996, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 733.

Sincerely,

Parris N. Glendening

Governor

Senate Bill No. 733

that employees verify certain information; making this Act an emergency measure;
requiring the Comptroller to deposit certain fees received in the General Fund of
the State; and generally relating to the office of the register of wills.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
