(b) (1) IN THIS SUBSECTION, "ADVERTISEMENT" INCLUDES A DISPLAY OR
SIGN THAT IS VISIBLE FROM A PUBLIC HIGHWAY.
(2) [It shall be unlawful for any] A person [, firm or corporation to] MAY
NOT conduct or operate [any] A tourist or travelers' information [service,] SERVICE
unless [every] EACH affixed [display, advertisement] ADVERTISEMENT [or sign visible
from a public highway,] THAT [announcing such] ANNOUNCES THE service by the
[use] PROMINENT DISPLAY of the word ["information,"] "INFORMATION" or a
synonym [therefor, prominently displayed, shall include] INCLUDES, in letters THAT
ARE at least half the size of the largest letters [appearing] in [such] THE [display,]
advertisement [or sign, and] AND THAT ARE lighted and displayed with substantially
equal prominence, a complete list [, by name] OF NAMES, headed "Sales Agents For" or
the equivalent, of [all] EACH business [establishments] from which [any] A person,
[firm or corporation] directly or indirectly connected with [such service] THE SERVICE,
receives [any] A commission, fee, or other payment or remuneration for [business
referred] REFERRALS to [such] THE business [establishments].
(3) This subsection [shall] DOES not apply to:
(I) A bona fide [chambers or associations] CHAMBER OR
ASSOCIATION of commerce of [Maryland] cities, [towns] TOWNS, or counties OF THE
STATE; or
(II) [to] AN information service furnished by [any] A retail business
[establishment where no] IF remuneration is NOT received from any other business
[establishment] other than for goods sold on the premises.
(c) Any person who violates any provision of this section [shall be deemed] IS
guilty of a misdemeanor and [upon] ON conviction [thereof shall be fined] IS SUBJECT
TO A PENALTY not [more than $500.00] EXCEEDING $500 for each [and every] offense.

SECTION 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s) 9.01 and the
subheading "Transitional Provisions" and 9.02 through 9.04, inclusive, and the
subheading "Moratorium in St. Mary's County" of Article 66B - Zoning and Planning of
the Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed.
DRAFTER'S NOTE:
Article 66B, § 9.01 by its terms is obsolete as of 1975. Similarly, Article 66B, §§
9.02 through 9.04 are limited duration provisions and the affected counties
have advised that these provisions are obsolete.
SECTION 7. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland
