AN ACT concerning

Workers' Compensation - Domestic Servant - Minimum Earnings

FOR the purpose of altering the earnings level above which a domestic servant in a
private home is a covered employee with respect to the household under workers'
compensation law.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Labor and Employment

9-209.

An individual who is employed as a domestic servant in a private home is a covered
employee with respect to a household if the individual earns at least [$250] $1,000 $750 in
cash in a calendar quarter from that household.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1996.

AN ACT concerning

Creation of a State Debt - Baltimore City - U.S.S. Sanctuary

FOR the purpose of authorizing the creation of a State Debt not to exceed $900,000
$300,000 $250,000, the proceeds to be used as a grant to the Board of Directors of
Project Life, Inc. for certain acquisition, development, or improvement purposes;
providing for disbursement of the loan proceeds, subject to a requirement that the
grantee provide and expend a matching fund; requiring the grantee to grant and
convey a certain easement easements or covenants to the Maryland Historical Trust;
and providing generally for the issuance and sale of bonds evidencing the loan.
