In addition to the appropriation shown on
page 97 of the printed bill (first reading file
bill), to provide funds for RAISE, Inc. in
order to establish a State Mentoring
Resource Center. The Center will be a
partnership between the State Department
of Education, RAISE, Inc. and other public
and private agencies across the State which
are engaged in mentoring programs
targeting disadvantaged students. It will
develop a network of programs, disseminate
information, provide training and technical
assistance, undertake research and
evaluation and promote public involvement
and support. These funds will be matched
by $50,000 in private funds.
