State House

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed House Bill 406.

This bill alters the name of the Governor's Mansion to Government House and the
Governor's Mansion Trust to be the Government House Trust. The bill also adds to the
. membership of the Government House Trust.

Senate Bill 339, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May 9,
1995, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 406.

Sincerely,

Parris N. Glendening

Governor
