1995 LAWS OF MARYLAND
(1) $20 million may not be credited to the
Maryland Stadium Facilities Fund.
Authorization is hereby granted to transfer
these funds to the Dedicated Purpose
Account for use as indicated:
(a) If the Maryland Stadium Authority
enters into a long-term lease with a
National Football League team the funds
may be applied toward the cost of
constructing a football stadium;
(b) If no such lease is secured by May
1, 1996, the funds may be used only for
public school construction projects.
(2) $800,000 may only be used as a grant to
the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to
be used for the planning, construction,
renovation, improving and equipping of
Memorial Stadium on 33rd Street in
Baltimore City. Further. $1.2 million of the
existing balance of the Maryland Stadium
Facilities Fund may also be used for this
purpose. Authorization is hereby granted to
transfer these funds for use as indicated:
(a) The Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore shall enter into an agreement
with the Maryland Stadium Authority
providing that the Authority shall
manage the grant for the planning,
renovation, improving and equipping of
Memorial Stadium after consultation
with the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore and the Metropolitan
Baltimore Football Club Limited
Partnership; and
(b) The Maryland Stadium Authority
shall additionally review and by
December 1, 1995 submit a detailed
report of recommendations to the
Governor, the Presiding Officers of the
General Assembly, the Senate Budget
and Taxation Committee and the House
Appropriations Committee on long term
improvements and renovations to
Memorial Stadium required to achieve
