(2) THE ORDINANCE AUTHORIZED IN PARAGRAPH (1) OF THIS
SUBSECTION MAY PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR PERSONS WHO PLACE MATERIALS THAT
ARE NOT RECYCLABLE INTO RECYCLING BINS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1995.

AN ACT concerning

Washington County - Bingo - Fees for Permits

FOR the purpose of authorizing the County Commissioners of Washington County to
charge an annual fee of not more than a certain amount for a permit for a person
other than a nonprofit organization to conduct games of bingo in Washington
County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments

259.

(a)     Nothing in this subtitle shall be construed to make it unlawful to conduct or
operate a game of bingo in Washington County in accordance with this section.

(b)     A prize in cash or in merchandise of greater value than $1,000 may not be
offered or given in any one game.

(c)     (1) Any person wishing to conduct or operate games of bingo shall secure a
permit from the County Commissioners of Washington County.

(2)     Before issuing a permit the County Commissioners shall ascertain the
purpose of the games and the use of the receipts from the games.

(3)     THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY CHARGE AN ANNUAL FEE OF
NOT MORE THAN $5,000 FOR A PERMIT FOR PERSONS OTHER THAN NONPROFIT
ORGANIZATIONS TO CONDUCT GAMES OF BINGO.
