1995 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(e) "Public Service Commission inspector" means a person who is assigned by the
Public Service Commission and certified by the DEPARTMENT OF [Maryland] State
Police to perform an inspection authorized under this subtitle,

DRAFTER'S NOTE:

Subsections (c) through (e) of this section are amended to reflect the
establishment of the Department of State Police as a principal department of
State government by Chs. 165 and 166, Acts of 1994, to reflect the status of the
head of the Department as a Secretary of a principal department of State
government, and to delete surplus language.

23-302.

(c) A vehicle may not be operated unless at all times it carries the appropriate
required document, as follows:

(1)     A record of the most recent inspection, including any maintenance or
repair work performed; or

(2)     A written certification that the vehicle is maintained under a preventive
maintenance plan approved by the Administration and the DEPARTMENT OF
[Maryland] State Police.

Subsection (c) of this section is amended to reflect the establishment of the
Department of State Police as a principal department of State government by
Chs. 165 and 166, Acts of 1994 and to delete surplus language.

23-303.

(a)     (1) In cooperation with the DEPARTMENT OF [Maryland] State Police, the
Administration shall adopt rules and regulations required for purposes of
implementation, administration, regulation, and enforcement of the provisions of this
subtitle.

(b)     (1) The DEPARTMENT OF [Maryland] State Police shall enforce this
subtitle in each of the counties of the State.

DRAFTER'S NOTE:

Subsections (a)(1) and (b)(1) of this section are amended to reflect the
establishment of the Department of State Police as a principal department of
State government by Chs. 165 and 166, Acts of 1994 and to delete surplus
language.

23-304.

The Department OF TRANSPORTATION and the DEPARTMENT OF [Maryland]
State Police shall conduct public education and awareness programs to inform and assist
owners of vehicles in the preventive maintenance program.
