(1)     the receipt, collection, and distribution of general information and
annual statistics regarding missing children; and

(2)     coordination of law enforcement agencies and other interested persons
or groups within and outside the State regarding information on children who have
disappeared from, or are thought to be located in, Maryland.

(b)     The SECRETARY OF THE State Police [Superintendent] may develop, in.
cooperation with local law enforcement agencies, a plan for voluntary fingerprinting
programs for children.

(c)     (2) The advisory council shall consist of the following members:

(iii) 1 person from the DEPARTMENT OF State Police, to be appointed
by the [Superintendent] SECRETARY of the State Police;

DRAFTER'S NOTE:

Subsections (a), (b), and (c)(2)(iii) of this section are amended to reflect the
establishment of the Department of State Police as a principal department of
State government by Chs. 165 and 166, Acts of 1994 and to reflect the status of
the head of the Department as a Secretary of a principal department of State
government.

Article - Health - General

(a) The Commission consists of the following 5 members:

Subsection (a)(4) of this section is amended to reflect the status of the head of
the Department of State Police as the Secretary of a principal department of
State government in light of Chs. 165 and 166, Acts of 1994 and to delete
surplus, language.

(e) For the use of these medical examiners, the Commission shall:

(1)     See that proper equipment is provided; or

(2)     Arrange for use of the laboratory and other equipment of the
Department, the Baltimore City Health Department, the DEPARTMENT OF [Maryland]
State Police, or the Baltimore City Police Department.
