Ch. 500                                    1995 LAWS OF MARYLAND

FOR the purpose of requiring the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to provide
certain benefits to certain individuals under certain circumstances; requiring the
Department to take appropriate measures to assure the quality of managed care
plans; authorizing the Department to impose cost-sharing on Medical Assistance
Program recipients; authorizing the Department to require Program recipients to
enroll in managed care plans; requiring managed care plans to meet certain
standards; repealing a certain authorization for substance abusing pregnant women
to disenroll from health maintenance organizations; requiring the Secretary of
Health and Mental Hygiene to report to certain committees of the General
Assembly before a certain date; making certain portions of this Act subject to a certain
contingency; defining certain terms; providing for a certain contingency; and
generally relating to eligibility and managed care plans under the Maryland Medical
Assistance Program.
