Ch. 3 1995 LAWS OF MARYLAND
Article - Business Regulation
1-504.
(a) The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, THE
DEPARTMENT OF STATE POLICE, and the Office of the Attorney General shall have
access to and shall be authorized to inspect and copy any reports filed with the
Department under this article.
DRAFTER'S NOTE:
Subsection (a) of this section is amended to reflect that it gives authority to
inspect and copy reports to the Department of State Police. Before the
enactment of Chs. 165 and 166, Acts of 1994, the State Police were included in
the reference to the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services
since the State Police were part of that department. Chapters 165 and 166,
Acts of 1994, however, made the State Police a separate department and,
therefore, a separate reference to the Department of State Police must be
added for subsection (a) of this section to continue to authorize the State
Police to inspect and copy reports.

(g) (1) The DEPARTMENT OF State Police shall help the enforcement unit to
carry out this section.
(2) The Comptroller shall pay the salaries and expenses of THE
DEPARTMENT OF State Police personnel who are assigned to the enforcement unit.
DRAFTER'S NOTE:
Subsection (g) of this section is amended to reflect the establishment of the
Department of State Police as a principal department of State government by
Chs. 165 and 166, Acts of 1994.
