(Section 2 of this Act)", and a corresponding square or box to the right of and opposite
th
e words "For a School Board Partially Appointed by the County Commissioners and
Partially El
ected by the Voters of Calvert County (Section 3 of this Act)", so that each
voter of the county may designate his or her decision concerning the selection of the
members of the Calvert County Board of Education. A voter may choose only one of the
methods of selection. The section that receives a number of votes larger than the number
of votes cast for each of the other sections section shall become effective on October
December 1, 1995. The remainder of those Sections section that did not each receive the
largest larger number of votes in the election shall be of no effect and null and void. If the
two of the sections each receive the same number of votes, thereby creating a tie, and the
third section did not receive the largest number of votes, then all three both of the
sections shall be of no effect and null and void.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to Article III.
Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may not be construed to extend or
apply to the salary or compensation of the President and members of the Calvert County
Board of Education in office on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this
Act concerning the salary or compensation of the President and members of the Calvert
County Board of Education shall take effect at the beginning of the next following term of
office.

SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, subject to the provisions
of Section 4 3 of this Act and for the sole purpose of providing for the referendum
required by Section 4 3, this Act shall take effect July 1, 1995.

AN ACT concerning

Charles County - Investment of County Funds

FOR the purpose of modifying provisions governing the deposit and investment of funds
of Charles County by the County Treasurer; authorizing certain investments and
deposits; modifying certain requirements relating to required collateral and manner
of investment; making stylistic changes; making this Act an emergency measure; and
generally relating to the powers and duties of the Charles County Treasurer and the
investment of County funds.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
The Public Local Laws of Charles County
Section 136-9 B.
