Ch. 3                                       1995 LAWS OF MARYLAND

(1) As ex-officio members of the Council:

(iii) The [Superintendent] SECRETARY of the State Police or the
[Superintendent's] SECRETARY'S designee; and

DRAFTER'S NOTE:

Subsection (b)(1)(iii) of this section is amended to reflect the status of the
head of the Department of State Police as the Secretary of a principal
department of State government in light of Chs. 165 and 166, Acts of 1994.

18-103.

(b)     The Board has 11 members appointed by the Governor with the advice and
consent of the Senate. The members of the Board serve for terms of 4 years each and are
as follows:

(3) One member representing the DEPARTMENT OF [Maryland] State
Police;

DRAFTER'S NOTE:

Subsection (b)(3) of this section is amended to reflect the establishment of the
Department of State Police as a principal department of State government by
Chs. 165 and 166, Acts of 1994 and to delete surplus language.

18-306.

(c)     The Commission consists of nine members as follows:

(1) Six members shall be appointed by the' Governor as follows:

(i) [Two] ONE shall be [representatives] A REPRESENTATIVE of
the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services [, including at least one
representative of the Maryland State Police Bureau of Drug Enforcement];

(II) ONE SHALL BE A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE BUREAU OF DRUG
ENFORCEMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE POLICE;

[(ii)](III) One shall be a representative of a local police department;

[(iii)] (IV) Two shall be representatives of the general public; and

[(iv)] (V) One shall be a representative of the State's Attorney's
Association.

DRAFTER'S NOTE:

Subsection (c)(1) of this section is amended to reflect the establishment of the
Department of State Police as a principal department of State government by
Chs. 165 and 166, Acts of 1994.
