AN ACT concerning

Commission on Artistic Property

FOR the purpose of altering the membership of the Commission on Artistic Property;
authorizing the Commission to contract for a curator and for certain curatorial
services; declaring the Commission to be the official custodian of certain objects of
decorative art, including the Peabody Art Collection once it is acquired by the State;
authorizing the Commission to loan certain objects to qualified institutions; and
generally relating to the Commission on Artistic Property.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

9-1017.

There is a Commission on Artistic Property in the State Archives.

9-1018.

(a) (1) The Commission consists of [8] 15 members, 7 OF WHOM ARE
INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERS AND 8 OF WHOM ARE PUBLIC MEMBERS.

(2) [Of the 8 members, at least 1 shall be a representative of a cultural
institution located in the State.
