Article 26A - Criminal Injuries Compensation Act

The Board, subject to the authority of the Secretary of Public Safety and
Correctional Services as set forth in Article 41 of the Code, shall have the following
powers and duties:
(c) To request from the State's Attorney, DEPARTMENT OF State Police, county
or municipal police departments such investigation and data as will enable the Board to
determine if, in fact, a crime was committed or attempted, and the extent, if any, to which
the victim or claimant was responsible for his own injury.
DRAFTER'S NOTE:
Subsection (c) of this section is amended to reflect the establishment of the
Department of State Police as a principal department of State government by Chs. 165
and 166, Acts of 1994.
18.
(a) As used in this section "law-enforcement agency" means the following:
(1) The Department of [Maryland] State Police;

Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments
22.
If any person shall bribe or attempt to bribe any executive officer of the State of
Maryland, any judge, or other judicial officer of this State, any member or officer of the
General Assembly of Maryland, any officer or employee of the State, or of any bi-county
or multi-county agency in the State, or of any county, municipality or other political
subdivision of the State, including members of the police force of Baltimore City and the
DEPARTMENT OF State Police or any member or officer of any municipal corporation of
this State, or any executive officer of such corporation, in order to influence any such
officer or person in the performance of any of his official duties; and if the Governor or
other executive officer of this State, any judge, or other judicial officer of this State, any
member of the General Assembly of Maryland or officer thereof, any officer or any
employee of the State, or of any bi-county or multi-county agency in the State, or of any
county, municipality or other political subdivision of the State, including members of the
police force of Baltimore City and the DEPARTMENT OF State Police or any member or
officer of any municipal corporation, or mayor or other executive officer thereof in this
State shall demand or receive any bribe, fee, reward or testimonial for the purpose of
influencing him in the performance of his official duties, or for neglecting or failing to
