Ch. 121
(b) The Department of Legislative Reference, in conjunction with the publishers
of the Annotated Code of Maryland, shall revise the Code to conform it to the transfer of
the Division of Employment and Training of the Department of Economic and
Employment Development to the Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation under
this Act, and this statutory revision shall be ratified by passage of the Annual Corrective
Bill of 1996.
SECTION 16. 20. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the terms of the
initial members of the Maryland Economic Development Commission shall expire as
determined by the Governor, but no fewer than:
(1) 5 members in 1998;
(2) 5 members in 1999; and
(3) 5 members in 2000.
SECTION 17. 21. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1995.

AN ACT concerning
General Assembly - Legislation - Economic Impact on Small Businesses
FOR the purpose of requiring the Department of Fiscal Services to prepare an economic
impact analysis rating and an economic impact analysis concerning the effect of
certain legislation on small businesses under certain circumstances; requiring
certain agencies of the executive branch of State government to prepare an
economic impact analysis rating and an economic impact analysis under certain
circumstances; specifying the circumstances and procedures applicable to the
preparation and transmittal of economic impact analysis ratings and economic
impact analyses; specifying the legal effect of an economic impact analysis rating
and an economic impact analysis; requiring the Department of Fiscal Services to
keep copies of economic impact analysis ratings and economic impact analyses for a
certain period of time; providing that copies of economic impact analysis ratings and
economic impact analyses be reasonably available for public inspection; providing
that economic impact analysis ratings and economic impact analyses need not be
published in House or Senate Journals; defining certain terms; encouraging the
members of the General Assembly to take a certain action requiring a unit of the
State or local government to provide certain information upon a certain request
when submitting proposed legislation; requiring a unit of the State or local government
to provide certain information upon a certain request; providing for a certain effective
date; and generally relating to the establishment of certain requirements to assess
the economic impact of certain legislation on small businesses.
