(i) register with the Superintendent once every 2 years;
(ii) provide the information the Superintendent requires; and
(iii) pay a fee of $15.
(C) A PERSON WHO IS LICENSED UNDER THE MARYLAND HOME
IMPROVEMENT LAW MAY ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF PROVIDING SECURITY
SYSTEMS SERVICES WITHOUT BEING LICENSED UNDER THIS TITLE IF THE PERSON:
(1) REGISTERS WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT ONCE EVERY 2 YEARS;
(2) PROVIDES THE INFORMATION THAT THE SUPERINTENDENT
REQUIRES;
(3) SUBMITS TO A STATE AND NATIONAL CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK
CONDUCTED BY THE SUPERINTENDENT; AND
(4) PAYS A FEE OF $15.
Chapter 362 of the Acts of 1994
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, notwithstanding the
provisions of this Act, an individual or person who is engaged in the business of providing
security system services [on or before October 1, 1994] shall not be subject to the
provisions of this Act or required to obtain a license under this Act until [April 1, 1995]
JUNE 1, 1996.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1994. It shall remain effective for a period of [3] 6 years and, at the end of
September 30, [1997,] 2000, with no further action required by the General Assembly,
this Act shall be abrogated and of no further force and effect.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
October 1, 1995.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is an emergency
measure, is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health and safety, has
been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members elected to
each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, and shall take effect from the date it is
enacted.
