(House Bill 278)

AN ACT concerning

Medical Mutual Liability Insurance Society of Maryland - Subsidiaries

FOR the purpose of repealing the application of certain provisions of the Insurance Code
to a subsidiary of the Medical Mutual Liability Insurance Society of Maryland (the
Society); authorizing the Society to establish, own, or control a subsidiary for any
business purpose; specifying the status of a subsidiary of the Society and the
treatment of any debts, claims, obligations, and liabilities of a subsidiary of the
Society and the Society; altering certain provisions of the Society's rate Stabilization
Reserve Fund; making a certain technical change; repealing certain uncodified
provisions of a certain prior Act of the General Assembly; providing for the
application of certain provisions of this Act; providing for the effective dates of
certain provisions of this Act; providing for the termination of certain provisions of
this Act; and generally relating to the Medical Mutual Liability Insurance Society of
Maryland and subsidiaries of the Society.
