Jones and John Jones of Col. Executors as aforesaid, and granted in the said Bill of sale, and made Oath that the consideration set forth in the said Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth. Acknowledged & sworn before James Craig (Seal) Received 26 March 1848 from William J. Jones the sum of one dollar in lieu of a Stamp on this Bill of sale Wm Jackson Clk Henry Hubbard Be it remembered that the following Bill of 70 from Ex.d Sale was recorded on the 30.th day of March 1848 John Maulden Know all men by these presents that I John Mauldin of Cecil County and state of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, lawful money of the United States, in hand paid by Henry Hubbard of Dorchester County & state aforesaid at or before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell, unto the said Henry Hubbard, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns, one Negro Boy named Henry, yellow Complexion, aged about nineteen years, to serve untill the first day of Mary Eighteen hundred and fifty four when the said Boy Henry is to be free: To have and to hold the said described yellow Boy Henry untill the first day of Mary Eighteen hundred and fifty four, to the sid Henry Hubbard, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns: And I the said John Mauldin for myself, my heirs, executors and Administrators, the said yellow Boy Henry, unto the said Henry Hubbard, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns, against me the said John Mauldin, my Executors and Administrators, and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever, shall & will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this twenty ninth day of March Eighteen hundred & forty eight John Mauldin (seal) Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of A. H. Penington - Conrad Wenherin Henry Hubbard (seal) City of Baltimore ss. Be it remembered that on this twenty ninth day of March 1848, before the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace for said City, appears John Mauldin and Henry Hubbard, and Acknowledges the above instrument of writing to be their Act and deed, according to the true intent and meaning thereof.
