D 1852 Edward Dowling Clerk of the Superior Court of Baltimore City Lewis Ross Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that Exd from 105 the following Mortgage Bill of Sale was received and Thomas H. Hurley recorded on the 25.th day of March 1852 This Indenture Made this 25.th day of March in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and fifty two between Thomas H. Hurley of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland of the one part and Lewis Ross of the Same County and State aforesaid of the other part whereas the Said Thomas H. Hurley owes and stands Justly indebted to the Said Lewis Ross in the Sum of Two Thousand dollars Current money and to Secure the payment thereof is willing to Execute these presents Now this indenture witnesseth that the Said Thomas H. Hurley for and in consideration of the premises and for and in consideration of the Sum of Five Dollars Current Money to him in hand paid by the Said Lewis ^Ross^ at or before the Sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof the said Thomas H. Hurley doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and therefrom doth acquit release exonerate and forever discharge the said Lewis Ross his heirs executors and administrators and every of them by these presents hath granted bargained and Sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and Sell unto the Said Lewis Ross his executors administrators and assigns all and Singular the negroes goods household stuff implements and furniture hereinafter particularly mentioned and expressed that is to say one negro man named Thomas aged about twenty Eight years of a chesnut colour slave for life one negro man named Isaac aged about twenty four years of a dark color Slave for life one negro woman named Maria aged about twenty two years of a dark Chesnut Color Slave for life one negro boy two years old child of Said Maria Slave for life and all the increase of said Maria all my crop of wheat and oats now growing on my farm three yoke of oxen three ox carts fifteen head of young Cattle five cows twenty head of Sheep and their lambs One black horse with white face one wagon and harness One horse cart and Gear fifty head of hogs one threshing machine and fixtures two Corn Shellers one Hundred barrels of Corn Two thousand pounds of Bacon all my farming utensils Such as plows harrows Cultivaters axes and hoes and all my kitchen furniture one Hundred Cords of wood now cut in the in the woods five Beds Bedsteads and furniture one wardrobe two Bureaus one desk and book Case Eighteen chairs three tables one carriage and harness one gold watch one amble barrel gun and all the residue |
