361. John Keene Be it remembered that the following deed of Paid to Ex.d Manumission was recorded on the 20.th day of Ritty Kennard September A. D. 1851, To wit: To all whom it may concern, be it known that I, John Keene, of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland, for divers good causes & considerations me thereunto moving, have released from slavery, ^liberated^ manumitted & set free, and by these presents do hereby release from slavery, liberate, manumit & set free, my Negro Woman Ritty Kennard of the age of forth three years, and able to work & gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance, and her the said negro woman named Ritty kennard I do hereby declare to be henceforth free, manumitted & discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me, my Executors or Administrators forever. In Witness whereof I have hereto set my hand & seal affixed this 20.th day of September 1851. Charles Corkran. Ann Jane Barrow Be it remembered that the following Bill Ex.d from 75 of Sale was recorded on the 6.th day of October 1851 Benton H. Crockett Know all men by these presents that I, Benton H. Crockett, of Dorchester County State of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar, current money of Maryland, in hand paid by Ann Jane Barrow, of Baltimore City in the State aforesaid, at or before the sealing of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged, have granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell, unto the said Ann Jane Barrow, his Executors, Administrators & Assigns, one Negro Woman Caroline, aged twenty one years, a slave for life: To have and to hold the said Negro Woman Caroline, as above bargained & sold, to the Ann Jane Barrow, her Executors, Administrators & Assigns forever And I, the said Benton H. Crockett, for myself, my heirs, Executors and Administrators, the said Negro Woman Caroline unto Ann Jane Barrow, her Executors, Administrators & Assigns and against him the said Benton H. Crockett, his heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns, against him the said Benton H. Crockett, his heirs, Executors and Administrators, and against all Deliv.d Oct 9 1851 to B. H. Crockett |
