348. J. W. C. Nicols Be it remembered that the following Bill Paid from Ex.d of Sale was recorded on the 9.th day of July 1851. Enoch Wilson, Negro Know all Men by these presents that I Enoch Wilson, free Negro, of Dorchester COunty in the State of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of sixty one dollars & twenty five cents, current money, to me in hand paid by J. W. C. Nicols, of the County & State aforesaid, at and before the sealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof I, the said Enoch Wilson, do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell, unto the said J. W. C. Nicols, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns, all the goods, chattels and personal estate of the said Enoch Wilson expressed & contained in the schedule hereunto annexed one Yoke of Oxen one Ox Cart one Horse Fifteen head of Hogs Two Plows one Harrow & two Axes To have and to hold and singular the goods, stock, farming Utensils and other premises above bargained & sold, or mentioned or intended so to be, to the said J. W. C. Nicols, his Executors, Administrators & Assigns forever: And I, the said Enoch Wilson, for myself, my heirs, executors & Administrators, all the stock, farming Utensils &c and other premises, above bargained & sold, or mentioned or then intended to be, to the said J. W. C. Nicols, his Executors & Administrators, against me the said Enoch Wilson, my Executors & administrators or Assigns, and against all & every other person or persons whatsoever shall & will warrant & forever defend by these presents, of all & singular which said goods, stock &c as aforesaid & mentioned & other premises, I, the said Enoch Wilson, have put the said J. W. C. Nicols in full possession by delivering to him, the said J. W. C. Nicols, one Yoke of Oxen, one Ox Cart, 1 Horse, fifteen head of Hogs, two Plows, one Harrow & two axes, at the sealing & delivery of these presents in the manner of the whole premises herein bargained & sold, or mentioned & intended so to be, unto him the said J. W. C. Nicols as aforesaid. In Witness I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 26.th day of June 1851. Test his Nicholas Langfit Enoch x Wilson (seal) mark State of Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: On this 26.th day of June 1851, personally appeared Enoch Wilson and acknowledged the fere Bill of Sale, or instrument, is correct according to the Act of Assembly in such case made & provided Taken and Acknowledged before Nicholas Langfit J. P. Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: Also at the same time personally appeared before me the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace, in and for said County, J. W. C. Nicols, the grantee Deld to J. W. C. Nicols Decr 12th 1851. |
