341. Samuel Dunnock Be it remembered that the following Bill 85 Ex.d from {Stamp} of sale was recorded the second time on the 17.th Levin Dunnock {75 cts} day of June 1851, To wit: Know all Men by these presents that I Levin Dunnock of Dorchester County & State of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of Twelve hundred dollars, current money of Maryland, to me in hand paid by Samuel Dunnock, of said County & State, before the ensealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Levin Dunnock has granted, bargained, sold, conveyed & transfered, and by these presents does grant, bargain, sell, convey & transfered, and by these presents Dunnock, his heirs & Assigns the following Negroes, To wit: one Negro Woman, Sarah, one Negro Boy Dick, one Negro Boy Ben, one Negro Girl Jane, one Negro Boy Moses, one Negro Girl Rachel, slaves for life and now in the possession of the said Samuel Dunnock, with the exception of Boys Dick & Ben. To have and to hold the said above several negroes unto the said Samuel Dunnock, his heirs and Assigns forever, to his and their sole use and uses forever, and to and for no other use, intent or purpose whatsoever, against me the said Levin Dunnock and my heirs, and against all persons whatsoever claiming the same, or any part thereof. In testimony whereof the said LEvin Dunnock has hereunto subscribed his name and affixed his seal this thirteenth day of July Eighteen hundred and forty nine. Be it remembered & it is hereby Certified that on this thirtieth day of July in the year Eighteen hundred and forty nine personally appeared Levin Dunnock, the party grantee in the aforegoing Bill of sale, and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed, and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein specified: And on the same day, before me as aforesaid, personally appeared Samuel Dunnock, the grantee named in the aforegoing Bill of sale and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration mentioned in the aforegoing Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein specefied and set forth. Acknowledged & sworn before Charles Corkran State of Maryland, Dorchester County ss. On this seventeenth day of June in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one, personally appeared before me, William Jackson, Clerk of Dorchester County Court, the above and within named Samuel Dunnock, the party grantee named in the aforegoing Bill of Sale, |
