above bounden Willis Hurlock shall well and truly execute the Office
of Constable in Election District N.o two in Dorchester County in all things
appertaining thereto and shall also well and truly pay all sums
of Money received by him then the above obligation to be void otherwise

Dorchester County, To wit:   On the 9.th day of November 1847 personally
appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the
County aforesaid Charles T. Smith and George W. L. Smith and made the
following Oath, To wit:  "We Charles T. Smith and George W. L. Smith
subscribing witnesses to the above Bond do make Oath that Willis
Hurlock, Geo. Winthrop and Henry J. Bramble obligors mentioned in
the said Bond did severally in our presence sign, seal and deliver the
said Bond as their Act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned."
Sworn before me on the day above mentioned            W.m W. Le Compte


State of Maryland               Be it remembered that the following Bond was
Ex.d   from                         recorded on the 9.th day of November 1847, To wit
Kendal M. Jacobs, Shff      {Stamp}   Know all men by these presents that
       & others                     {Six dol.}   we Kendal M. Jacobs, John Webster and
                                          Henry Willcox of Dorchester County in the State of
Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the
full and just sum of Twenty six thousand six hundred and sixty six dollars
and sixty six cents and two thirds of a Cent current Money to be paid to
the said state or its Certain Attorney; to the which payment well and truly
to be made and done we bind ourselves, our heirs, Executors and Administrators
to us jointly and severally firmly by these presents.  Sealed with our seals
and dated this Eight day of November in the year of Our Lord Eighteen
hundred and forty seven.   The Condition of the above obligation is such
that if the above bounden Kendal M. Jacobs as Sheriff of Dorchester County
do and shall well and faithfully execute the same office in all things
appertaining thereto and shall also render to the several officers within
this state a just and true account of all fees placed in his hands
for collection within the time limited by law and shall also well &
truly pay all sums of money received by him and also collect and pay
all public dues, fines and forfeitures which are due or belonging to the
state and shall also well and faithfully execute and return all writs,
process and warrants to him directed and delivered and shall also pay
and deliver to the person or persons entitled to receive the same all
sum or sums of Money, Tobacco, Goods, Chattels or property by him levied,
