State of Maryland Dorchester County, to wit; On this 8.th day of October 1850 personally appeared
Henry Lee Thompson before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and the State and County
aforesaid and acknowledged the within Bill of Sale to be his act and deed, to the true intent
and meaning of instrument

Moses Stanley negro            Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was
Paid   Ex.d   from   70      recorded on the fifteenth day of October Anno Domini 1850, to wit:
Henry Lee Thompson           Know all men by these presents that I Henry Lee Thompson
                                        of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for and in Consideration
of the Sum of Two Hundred Dollars current money to me in hand paid by Moses Standley of
the County and State aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt
whereof I the said Henry Lee Thompson do hereby acknowledge have granted, bargained, and
sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Moses Standley his executors
administrators and assigns all and singular one Negro woman Names Ann and one child Names
Amy being the woman and child which I purchased of Anthony Manning, all and Singular
which said woman and child I now deliver up to the said Moses Standley to Have and to
Hold all and singular the aforesaid Woman and child above bargained and sold or mentioned and
intended so to be to the said Moses Standley his executors administrators and assigns forever, and
I the said Henry Lee Thompson for myself my heirs executors and administrators all and singular
the said negro woman Ann and her child unto the said Moses Standley his executors administrators
and assigns against me the said Henry Lee Thompson for myself my heirs executors and administrators and
against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend
by these presents of all and Singular which said woman Ann and her child Amy I the said
Henry Lee Thompson have put the said Moses Standley in full possession by delivering to
him the aforegoing said woman and her child Amy at the Sealing and delivery of these presents
hereby bargained and Sold or mentioned and intended so to be unto him the said Moses
Standley as aforesaid      In Witness whereof I have set my seal this 14.th day of
October A. D. 1850.                                                                  his

On this 14.th day of October 1850 personally appeared Moses Standley before the subscriber a
Justice of the Peace for Dorchester County and made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty
God that the Consideration Mentioned in the within Bill of Sale is true and bona fide as
therein set forth                                 Sworn before     Nicholas Langfit   J. P.

State of Maryland, Dorchester County, to wit:   On this 14.th day of October 1850 personally
appeared Henry Lee Thompson the party grantor to the aforegoing Bill of Sale before the
Subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid and acknowledged
the within and aforegoing Bill of Sale to be his act and deed to the true intent and meaning of
the within and aforegoing instrument of writing
                                        Taken and acknowledged before      Nicholas Langfit
                                                                            Justice of the Peace for DC.
