28. the 30.th day of August before me one of the Justices of the Peace in & for said County appears John H. Carroll and Acknowledges the foregoing writing to be his Act and deed according to the true intent & meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly in such case made & provided C. W. Breerwood Francis I. Henry & Be it remembered that the following deed of W.m A. Sulivane Mortgage was recorded on the 14.th day of from Ex.d October 1847, To wit: Joseph Bradshaw {Stamp} This Indenture made this twelfth {one dol.} day of October in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty seven between Joseph Bradshaw of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland of the one part and Francis I. Henry and William A. Sulivane of the County and state aforesaid of the other part Whereas Joseph Bradshaw hath executed & delivered unto Perry North his note bearing date this twelfth day of October Eighteen hundred and forty seven for the sum of Eight hundred dollars bearing interest from date and payable one day after date and the said note hath also been signed by Francis I. Henry and William A. Sulivane jointly as Security for the payment thereof unto the said Perry North and to secure and indemnify the said Francis I. Henry and William A. Sulivane against loss as security the said Joseph Bradshaw is willing to execute these presents Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Joseph Bradshaw for and in consideration of the premises and of the sum of one dollar current money to him in hand paid by the Francis I. Henry and WIlliam A. Sulivane at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained & sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain & sell unto the said Francis I. Henry & William A. Sulivane their Executors, Administrators and Assigns all and singular the negroes hereinafter mentioned and expressed & described that is to say one negro man named Darius, one negro Man named Green, one negro man named Jasper, and one negro man named Henry. To have and to hold all and singular the said Negroes unto the said Francis I. Henry and William A. Sulivane, their Executors, Administrators and Assigns to their & their own use and behoof Provided always and it is declared to be the true intent & meaning of these presents that if the said Joseph Bradshaw do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Perry North, his Executors, Administrators or Assigns the full sum of Eight hundred dollars current money with legal interest for the same when he shall thereunto be required by the said Perry North then and in such case these presents and every matter and thing herein contained shall cease, determine and Del.d C.
