Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that on this eleventh day of March in the year of Our Lord One thousand eighteen thousand eight hundred and fifty before the Subscriber one of the State of Maryland's Justices of the Peace in and for Dorchester County personally appears Elihu Wheatley and makes Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in the aforegoing Mortgage is true and bonafide as therein set forth. Sworn before Charles Corkran Eliza Rauliegh Be it remembered & it is hereby Certified that the following Ex.d from 65 Bill of Sale was recorded on the 19.th day of March 1850. H. D. Barnett {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that I, {one dol.} Harrison D. Barrett, of Dorchester County and State of Maryland, for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred and sixteen dollars, current money, ($516.00) to me in hand paid by M.rs Eliza Rauleigh, Widow of Hooper Rauliegh of the County and State aforesaid ^at & before the sealing & delivery of these presents^ the receipt whereof I, the said Harrison D. Barnett, do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell, unto the said Eliza Rauliegh, her heirs, executors, Administrators & Assigns, the following Negroes, that is to say, Negro Girl Martha, aged about fourteen years, and Negro Girl Caroline, aged about ten years, said Martha and Caroline being slaves for life & sound in body & mind. To have and to hold the said Negroes above bargained & sold, or mentioned or intended so to be, to the said Eliza Rauliegh, her heirs, executors, Administrators & Assigns forever. In Witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my name and affix my seal this nineteenth day of March in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of Charles Corkran H. D. Barnett (seal) State of Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: On this nineteenth day of March in the year Eighteen hundred & fifty, personally appears before me the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland, in and for the body of Dorchester County aforesaid Harrison D. Barnett, party grantor in the above Bill of sale, and acknowledged the aforegoing Bill of sale to be his act & deed, and I am satisfied, from my own knowledge, that the said Harrison D. Barnett, who professes to be the party grantor in the above Bill of sale, is the same person who executed & acknowledged the same before me. At the same time personally appears M.rs Eliza Rauleigh, party grantee in the said Bill of sale, and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration mentioned in the aforegoing Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth, according to the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided Acknowledged before Charles Corkran Bill of Sale Delivered to H.
