236. State of Maryland Be it remembered & it is hereby certified that the following Bond Ex.d from was recorded on the 4.th day of March 1850, To wit: Wm Jackson & others {Stamp Two} Know all men by these presents that we {dollars & half} William Jackson, Thomas Breerwood and James Dixon, of Dorchester County, are held & firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full & just sum of Five thousand dollars, current money to be paid to the State of Maryland, to the which payment well & truly to be made & done we bind ourselves, our and each of our hiers, Executors & administrators, jointly & severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals & dated this 4th day of March in the year Eighteen hundred & fifty. The condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bound William Jackson shall well & faithfully perform the duties imposed upon him, as Clerk of Dorchester County Court, by the Act of Assembly passed at December session Eighteen hundred & forty four, entitled "An Act imposing duties on Promisory Notes, Bills of Exchange, Specialties and other instruments of Writing to aid in paying the debts of the State," and shall well & faithfully pay, into the Treasury of this State, all sums of Money, which he may receive by virtue thereof, at the periods therein limited for that purpose, then the above Obligation to be void & of none effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue in law. Hooper Ja.s Dixon (seal) Dorchester County, To wit: Be it remembered that on the fourth day of March in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred & fifty, personally appears Charles L. Hooper, subscribing witness to the above Bond, before me, the subscriber, one of the Justices of the Peace of the State of Maryland, for Dorchester County ^aforesaid^ and made Oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God that he did see William Jackson, Thomas Breerwood & James Dixon, Obligors in the said Bond, sign, seal and deliver the said Bond as their respective Act & deed, and that he the said Charles L. Hooper did subscribe his name as a witness thereto. Sworn before Charles Corkran March 4.th 1850 The above Bond & security approved by me Brice J. Goldsborough Joann Howard Be it remembered & it is hereby certified that the Ex.d from 70 following Bill of sale was recorded on the 8.th day of James Thompson, Ex.r March in the year 1850, To wit: of W.m J. Howard, dec.d Know all men by these presents that I, James Thompson, Executor of W.m J. Howard, deceased, of Dorchester County and State of Maryland, for & in consideration of the sum of Five hundred & seventy five dollars, current money, to me in hand Deliv.d Janu.y 16.th 1851 to Levin Mowbray |
