207 State of Maryland Dorchester County To wit: On this 24.th day of October 1849 before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for said County and State aforesaid personally appeared James Geoghegan aforesaid and acknowledged the above Bill of Sale or instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Charles Corkran And at the same time appeared Uriah Todd the grantee in the above instrument of writing and made Oath the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the above Bill of Sale is true & bonafide Bill of Sale and the Consideration therein mentioned is just & true as set forth in said paper Sworn before Charles Corkran Joseph S. Hooper Be it remembered that the following Bill of Sale was recorded on the Ex.d from 65 27.th day of October 1849 To wit: Thomas Wingate Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Wingate of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of Fifty ^two^ Dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Joseph S Hooper of Dorchester County in the said State at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof I the said Thomas Wingate do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained & sold and by these presents do grant bargain & sell unto the said Joseph S. Hooper his Executors administrators or assigns one Iron Grey Horse which said all & singular the Grey Horse which I have bargained & sold to the said Joseph S. Hooper his Executors Administrators or assigns forever and I the said Thomas Wingate for myself my heirs executors or administrators and all and singular the said Horse unto the said Joseph S. Hooper his Executors Administrators assigns and against me the said Thomas Wingate my Executors and Administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents of all and singular which said Horse I the said Wingate have put the said Joseph S. Hooper in full possession by delivering to him the said Joseph S. Hooper the said Horse unto to him the Joseph S. Hooper as aforesaid. In Witness whereof the said Thomas Wingate hath hereunto subscribed his name and affixed his seal this 10.th day of October Eighteen hundred & forty nine Thomas Wingate (seal) Maryland Dorchester County To wit: On this 10.th day of October 1849 before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for Dorchester County personally appears Thomas Wingate and acknowledges the foregoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning hereof and at the same time and place also appeared before me Joseph S. Hooper and made oath that the Consideration set forth in the said Bill of Sale is true and bonafide as therein set forth.
