19. I have hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty fourth day of July 1847. Test Dennis S. Sweaney James Parrott (L S) Daniel H. Maddux James Thompson (L S) State of Maryland Baltimore City, To wit: on this 24.th day of July 1847 before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the said County and state personally appeared James Parrott and James Thompson Esquire and Acknowledged the above Bill of sale or instrument of writing to be their Act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before Dennis S. Sweaney State of Maryland Baltimore City Sct. Be it remembered that on this 24.th day of July in the year 1847 personally appeared James Parrott and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration in this Bill of Sale is just and bona fide as therein set forth. Sworn before Dennis S. Sweany a Justice of the Peace in and for Baltimore City. July 24 1847. State of Maryland Baltimore County, Sct. I hereby Certify that Dinnis S. Sweany Esquire before whom the annexed Acknowledgments and deposition were made and who hath thereto subscribed his name was at the time of so doing a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for the City of Baltimore duly Commissioned and sworn. In testimony whereof I hereto set my hand and affix (Seal) the seal of Baltimore County Court this twenty fourth day of July 1847. A. W. Bradford Clerk Baltimore County Court James Collison Be it remembered that the following Deed of to Ex.d Manumission was recorded August 19.th 1847, To wit: Negro Joseph Know all men by these presents that I James Collison of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have released from slavery, liberated, manumitted and forever set free and by these presents do release from slavery, liberate, manumit and forever set free my Negro called Joseph aged five years to serve twenty five years from next Christmas day hereby acknowledging the said Negro Joseph to be free and discharged from all manner of service or servitude from and after twenty five years from next Christmas day.
