which payment well & truly to be made & done, we bind ourselves, our
heirs, executors and Administrators, jointly & severally, firmly by these
presents.  Sealed with our seals and dated this sixteenth day of April 1849.
The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bounden
Hooper C. Hicks shall well & truly execute the Office of Constable of Vienna
Town, in all things appertaining thereto, and shall also well & truly account
for all moneys placed in his hands for collection, and shall also well and truly
pay all sums of money received by him on Judgments or otherwise, him, then
the above Obligation to be void, otherwise of full force & virtue in law.

Dorchester County, To wit:
On the sixteenth day of April 1849, personally appeared before me,
the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace in & for the County aforesaid, James
Higgins & James Hammersly and made the following Oath, To wit:
"We James Higgins & James Hammersly, subscribing witnesses to the
above Bond, do make Oath that Hooper C. Hicks, Thomas H. Hicks,
and Kendal M. Jacobs, Obligors mentioned in the said Bond, did
severally, in our presence, sign, seal & deliver the said Bond as their
act and deed, for the purposes therein mentioned.
Sworn before me on the day above mentioned.      Charles Corkran


State of Maryland                 Be it remembered that the following Bond was
Ex.d      from                        recorded on the 16.th day of April 1849.  To wit:
W.m W. Davis & others      {Stamp}      Know all Men by these presents that
                                        {one dollar}    we W.m W. Davis, W.m V. M. Edmondson
and Thomas K. Smith, of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland, are
held & firmly bound unto the state of Maryland in the full & just
sum of Two thousand dollars current money of the United States, to
be paid to the said State or its certain Attorney; to the which payment
well & truly to be made & done, we bind ourselves, our heirs,
executors and Administrators, jointly & severally, firmly by these
presents.  Sealed with our seals and dated this 16.th day of April 1849.
The Condition of the above Obligation is such, that if the above
bounden William W. Davis shall well and truly execute the Office of
Constable of New market district in all things appertaining thereto,
and shall also well & truly account for all moneys placed in his
hands for collection, and shall ^also^ well & truly pay all sums of money
received by him on Judgment or otherwise, then the obligation to be void,
