Charles Corkran State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond was Ex.d from recorded on the 16.th day of April 1849, To wit: W.m W. LeCompte & others {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that we {one dollar} William W. LeCompte, John Scott & William Rea, of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland, are held and firmly bound unto the state of Maryland in the full & just sum of Two thousand dollars, current money of the United States, to be paid to the said State or its certain Attorney; to the which payment well & truly to be made & done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and Administrators, jointly & severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this sixteenth day of April 1849. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bounden William W. LeCompte shall well and truly execute the Office of Constable of Cambridge Town, in all things appertaining thereto, and shall also well & truly account for all moneys placed in his hands for collection, and shall also well & truly pay all sums of money received by him, on Judgment or otherwise, then the obligation to be void, otherwise of full force & virtue in law. LeCompte, John Scott & William Rea, obligors mentioned in the said Bond, did severally in our presence, sign, seal & deliver the said bond as their act and deed, for the purposes therein mentioned."
