157 Vickers & Wright Be it remembered that the following ^(Mort)^ Bill of Sale was recorded on the 13 80 from Exd day of February 1849 To wit Robert Harden Know all men by these presents that I Robert Harden of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one Dollar current money to me in hand paid by Wm T Vickers & Isaac C Wright doing business under the ferm of Vickers and Wright of the County and State aforesaid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Robert Harden do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and Sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Vickers & Wright their executors administrators and assigns the following property now in my possession viz two sorrel Mares one Yoke of Oxen one ox Cart one hone Cart one Gig three Cows two Sows and fourteen pigs two Yearlings eighteen head of sheep two tables one Cupboard one safe one clock five beds bedsteads and furniture twelve chairs one barge three ploughs two harness one scythe and Cradle one fan twenty barrels Corn, one fodder house one top stack and five thousand pound of blade To have and To hold the said property to the said Vickers and Wright their executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said Robert Harden for myself my heirs executors and administrators the aforesaid property to the said Vickers & Wright their executors administrators and Assigns against me the said Robert Harden my executors and administrators and against all and every person and persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents Provided nevertheless that in case I the said Robert Harding shall pay and satisfy to the said Vickers & Wright or their executors administrators or assigns the sum of three hundred and forty three Dollars & seventy Cents Current Money with interest for the same on or before the first day of January eighteen hundred and fifty then this Bill of Sale and every matter and thing therein expressed shall be void and of none effect it bering the true intent and meaning thereof that the said property is mortgaged by me the said Robert Harden to secure to the said Vickers and Wright the payment of the money aforesaid. In witness whereof I the said Robert Harden have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this ninth day of February Eighteen Hundred and forty nine Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of his Geo A L Smith J. H. C. Nicols Robert x Harding (seal) mark Vickers & Wright (seal) State of Maryland Dorchester County To wit On this ninth day of February eighteen Hundred and forty nine before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for said State and County appears Robert Harden and acknowledges the foregoing instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such Case made and provided. Maryland Dorchester County To wit on this ninth day of February in the year of Our Lord eighteen Hundred and forty nine personally appeared the within named Vickers & Wright the parties Mortgaged mentioned in the aforesaid mortgage and made Oath on the Holy Evangely Deld to Isaac H Wright March 2 1849 |
