12. State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond from Ex.d was recorded June 16.th 1847, To wit: Kendal M. Jacobs & others {Stamp} Know all men by these presents that {Six dol.} we Kendal M. Jacobs, Francis P. Phelps and Thomas Dail of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the state of Maryland in the full and just sum of Twenty thousand two hundred and seventy eight dollars and twenty two cents current money of the United States to be paid to the said state or its certain Attorney to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and each of us, our and each of our heirs, executors and Administrators jointly & severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this sixteenth day of June in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty seven Kendal M. Jacobs appointed Collector of the Direct Tax for Dorchester County shall well and faithfully execute the office of Collector of the Direct Tax for said County and the several duties required of him by law and shall well and truly account for and pay to the Treasurer of Maryland the several sums of money which he shall receive or be answerable for by law at such time as the law shall direct then the above Obligation to be void or else to be and remain in full force and virtue in law. Jacobs and William Rea of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the state of Maryland in the full and just sum of Four hundred and ninety five dollars current money of the United States to be paid to the said state or its certain Attorney to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and each of us, our and each of our heirs, executors and Administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this sixteenth day of June in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty seven. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bounden Kendal M.
