117. grantee also personally appeared before the subscriber and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration mentioned in the within bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein mentioned. Acknowledged and sworn before Charles Corkran Edward Street Be it remembered that the following Deed of Manumission Paid to Ex.d was recorded on the 14.th day of July 1848, To wit: Negro Airey To all whom it doth or may concern, be it known that I Edward Street of the Town of Cambridge, Dorchester County in the State of Maryland, for divers good causes & considerations me thereunto moving, have released from slavery, liberated, manumitted and set free, and by these presents do hereby release from Slavery, liberate, manumit and set free my Negro Woman Airey being of the age Fifty six years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and Maintenance, and her the said Negro Woman Airey I do declare to be henceforth free, manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me, my Executors or Administrators forever, subject to maintenance by my Estate when an incumbrance. In Witness whereof I have hereunto my name & seal affixed this 30.th day of June in the Year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty eight. On the thirteenth day of June Anno Domini 1848, then came before me the undersigned a Justice of the Peace in and for said County Edward Street and Acknowledged the within and aforegoing Manumission to be his Act and deed and delivered for the uses and purposes therein mentioned, according to the Acts of Assembly in such case made & provided. Acknowledged before & Certified by Charles Corkran J. P. James Le Compte Be it remembered that the following Certificate was Ex.d Certificate of recorded on the 20.th day of July 1848, To wit: Negro Hannah State of Maryland Dorchester County, To wit: I hereby 50 certify to all manner of persons whom it doth or may concern, that being seized & possessed of a certain Negro Slave called Hannah, aged twenty six years, and being desirous to receive and bring the said Negro woman within this State, from the State of Virginia, for my own use and benefit, and not for sale, do make out this Certificate of the said Negro Hannah agreeably to the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided.
