before the subscriber a Justice of the peace in the state of Maryland
in and for Dorchester County aforesaid personally appears Littleton
Stewart he being Know to me to be the person who is named and described
by me as and professing to be a party to the foregoing bill of
sale and doth acknowledge the said bill of sale to be his act and
deed.  In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name
on the day and year aforesaid

James Thompson   Be it remembered that the following bill of
Ex.d   from            sale was recorded on the 15 March 1843 to wit
Allen Green           Maryland Dorchester County to wit   Know
all men by these presents that I Allen Green Colored man for
and in Consideration of the sum of Thirty Dollars Current Money
due from me to James Thompson for rent of House and lots for the
year 1842 have granted bargained and sold and by these presents
do grant bargain and sell unto the said John Thompson one
Cow and calf five hundred pounds of sale Pork two beds & bedsteads
one Cupboard and all my earthen ware 3 pots all my Chairs
and every other species of House hold furniture and a small lot
of corn being all I have and all of which said property is now in my
possession  To have and to hold the said property as above specified
& described unto the said James Thompson his heirs and assigns forever
in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my
seal this 2d day of March 1843                     his

State of Maryland              On this 2d day of March 1843 then came
Dorchester County to wit   before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace
in and for Dorchester County the within and above named Allen
Green and acknowledged the above and within bill of sale to be
his act and Deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof
and the act of assembly in such cases made and provided

Thomas F Eccleston       Be it remembered that the following bill of
Ex.d      from                  sale was recorded on the 20th March 1843 to wit
James Clash                   Know all men by these presents that I James
Clash of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for and in
Consideration of the sum of two hundred Dollars current money
to me in hand paid by Thomas F Eccleston of the County and state
aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents
