73 one of the Justices of the peace in and for said county appears Rodger C Robson and acknowledges the foregoing writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided Acknowledged Before Levi D Travers James Dixon Be it remembered that the following bill of sale was recorded Ex.d from on the 13 Feby 1843 Know all men by these presents Jim Henry that I Jim Henry of Dorchester County and state of Maryland for and in consideration of the County and state afs.d have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said James Dixon 1 old bay Horse & cart 1 mare 8 years old 2 beds & furniture ½ dozen chairs 3 Iron pots loom & spider 1 Heifer 3 years old 1 shoat 2 chests 2 hoes & 1 spade and all my poultry above bargained & sold unto the said James Dixon to him his heirs executors administrators and assigns against me the said Jim Henry of the afs.d county & state my heirs executors administrators and assigns afs.d against all and every other person or persons shall and will warrant and defend to the said James Dixon him and his heirs forever I testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 13th day of February 1843 his Signed & sealed in presence of Jim + Henry James Rea mark State of Maryland On this 13th day of February 1843 came before me Dorchester County to wit the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for said County and state afs.d personally appeared Jim Henry of Dorchester County and State of Maryland and acknowledged the above Bill of Sale or instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before me James Rea Westly Phillips Be it remembered that the following bill of sale was recorded Ex.d from on the 17 Feb 1843 to wit Whereas Wesley Phillips Thomas J H Eccleston execute to Thomas J H Eccleston two bills of sale viz one dated on the 17th of January 1843 and the other dated the 25th of January 1843 for certain goods and chattels herein after enumerated and whereas the sd Wesly Phillips and his brothers Henry Phillips and R E Phillips have satisfied the sd Eccleston for and in consideration of the sum of fifty eight dollars and fifty cents current money to me in hand paid by the sd parties the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge do hereby release grant and transfer to the sd Westly Philiips all & singular the goods & chattles |
