394. and forever defend by these presents to the said Sam.l Aaron his Executors, Administrators and Assigns the said described property against me, my Executors, Administrators and against all and every person or persons whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this fourteenth day of November in the year one thousand Eight hundred and forty six. her Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of Rachel x Brannock (Seal) Elijah Tall mark Dorchester County, To wit On this fourteenth day of November Eighteen hundred and forty six before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the said County appears Rachel Brannock acknowledges the within writing to be her Act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the Acts of Assembly in such case made and provided Elijah Tall Ann M. Stewart Be it remembered that the following Bill of Ex.d from sale was recorded on the 3.d day of December 1846. W.m J. W. Stewart State of Maryland Stamp Know all men by these presents I William 25 J. W. Stewart for and in consideration Cts of the sum of Five hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid by Ann M. Stewart, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto the said Ann M. Stewart my Negro Man named Elisha which fell to me by the divishion of my Fathers Estate the said Elisha a slave for life and sound in body and mind To have and to hold the said Negro Elisha a slave for life as above bargained & sold unto the said Ann M. Stewart her heirs and Executors, Administrators and against all and every other person or persons shall & will warrant and defend In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this thirtieth day of July Eighteen hundred & forty six. Test W.m W. LeCompte W.m J. W. Stewart (Seal) State of Maryland Dorchester County, To wit: On this 30.th day of July 1846 before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the said County and state personally appeared William J.
