warrant and forever defend by these presents.  In witness whereof
I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 8.th day of September

                            State of Maryland Dorchester County, To wit:
Be it remembered that it is hereby Certified that on this 8.th day
of September 1846 before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in
the State of Maryland in and for Dorchester County aforesaid
personally appeared Littleton Stewart he being known to me
to be the person who is named and described by me as and professing
to be a party to the foregoing Bill of sale and doth
acknowledge the said Bill of sale to be his Act and deed
In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name on
the day and year aforesaid.                  Brannock Moore   J.P.


Joel Cornwell &      Be it remembered that the following Bill of
Josiah Kerr             Sale was recorded on the 19.th day of October 1846.
Ex.d   from              Know all men by these presents that I Levin
Levin Petty              Petty of Dorchester County and state of Maryland
                               for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty
dollars lawful money of the United States in hand paid by Joel
Cornwell and Josiah Kerr trading under the firm of Cornwell
& Kerr at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained
and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell
unto the said Cornwell & Kerr their Executors, Administrators and
Assigns two Yoke of Oxen, one Cart containing wood & grain
Bodies, 2 Beds and furniture, two Bedsteads, 3 Tables
To have and to hold the said described Oxen, Cart, Beds &
Bedsteads & Tables to the said Cornwell & Kerr, their Executors,
Administrators and Assigns forever   And I the said Levin Petty
for my heirs, executors and Administrators the said goods and
chattles unto the said Cornwell & Kerr their Executors, Administrators
and Assigns against me the said Levin Petty, my Executors
and Administrators and against all and every other person
or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend
by these presents.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set
my hand and seal this thirteenth day of October Eighteen
hundred & forty six.
