Mills of Dorchester County and State of Maryland for and in
consideration of the sum of fifty dollars current money to me in
hand paid by Elijah Hurst of the County and state aforesaid at or
before the ensealing and delivering of these presents the receipt
whereof I the said Armory Mills do hereby acknowledge, have
granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain
& sell unto the said Elijah Hurst, his executors, administrators
and assigns one Yoke Steers, one Cow & Calf, all my House
hold furniture, one Crop Corn & fodder on the ground, twelve head
of Hogs now in my possession   To have and to hold the said
Steers, Cow & Calf, House hold furniture, Crop Corn & fodder and
Hogs to the said Elijah Hurst his executors, administrators and
Assigns forever   And I the said Armory Mills for myself, my
heirs, executors and administrators the aforesaid property to the
said Elijah Hurst, his executors, administrators and assigns against
me the said Armory Mills, my executors and Administrators and against
all and every person and persons whomsoever shall and will
warrant and forever defend by these presents; Provided Nevertheless
that in case I the said Armory Mills shall pay and satisfy to the
said Elijah Hurst or his Executor, administrator, or Assigns the sum of
Fifty dollars current money with interest on or before the 5.th day of
September 1846 then this Bill of Sale to be void and of no effect it
being the true intent and meaning thereof that the said property is
mortgaged by me the said Armory Mills to secure the said Elijah
Hurst the payment of the money aforesaid.  In Witness whereof I
the said Armory Mills have hereunto set my hand and affixed
my seal the 5.th day of September 1845.             his

appears Armory Mills and acknowledges the foregoing writing to be

and the Act of Assembly in such Cases made and provided
