313. Dorchester County, To wit: On the 12 day of July 1845 personally appeared before me the Subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid Nimrod Newton and Stephen Andrew and made the following Oath, to wit: "We Nimrod Newton and Stephen Andrew subscribing Witnesses to the above bond do make Oath that James Sullivan, James Davis and John L. Willis obligors mentioned in the said Bond did severally in our Presence sign, seal and deliver the said Bond as their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned. Sworn before me on the day above mentioned Sworn before John Webb Reuben E. Phillips Be it remembered that the following Bill Ex.d from of Sale was recorded the 21.st August 1845 Levin & Henry M. Phillips Know all men by these presents that we Levin Phillips and Henry M. Phillips of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Two thousand three hundred dollars current money to me in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents by Reuben E. Phillips the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge. We the said Levin Phillips and Henry M. Phillips have bargained & sold and granted and by these presents do grant, bargain sell unto the said Reuben E. Phillips his Executors, Administrators or Assigns all the goods, Negroes, Household stuff, farming implements and furniture hereinafter particularly mentioned that is to say one Negro Man named Jacob, one Negro Girl Eliza, one Negro Girl Mary, Negro Girl Alexanda, one Negro Boy Marshall, Negro Boy Henry, Negro Boy Alexander, one Bay Mare Salima, one bay Mare Lady, one Bay Horse Jack, one sorrel named Abacak, two yoke of oxen, six milk cows, Eight young Cattle, ten Sheep, twenty five Hogs, two ox Carts, four plows, three Harrows, one Gig & Harness, one hundred & fifty barrels Corn, one half of the Crop of wheat and oats now sowed, four Beds & furniture, one Clock, one Looking Glass, one Secretary, Six Chairs, two Walnut Tables, four thousand pound of Blade fodder and all the remainder of the house hold and kitchen furniture and farming Utensils now upon the Farm where the said Phillips's resides and mentioned in this Bill of Sale. To have and to hold all and singular the goods and chattels, Negroes, furniture, farming utensils &c and the other members above bargained & sold, purtinses to be bargained and sold to the said Reuben E. Phillips, his executors, administrators or assigns forever And we the said Levin Phillips and Henry M. Phillips for ourselves, our heirs, administrators all and singular the goods and chattels and other Premises against ourselves and every other person whatsoever do and will forever warrant & defend by these presents all of which goods and Chattels, Negroes, Household |
