County and state aforesaid and acknowledges the above instrument
of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent &
meaning thereof.  Acknowledged before      Brannock Moore  J. P.


Negro Harriet, list               Be it remembered that the following list of Negro
Paid   of her children Ex.d   Harriet children was recorded on the 2.d day of
                                           June 1845, To wit:
Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit:  Be it remembered that on the
second day of June in the year of Our Lord eighteen hundred and
forty five personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices
of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid Negro Harriet and made
Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that she is the Mother of
six children namely that is to say Aaron James aged about twenty
five years, Ann Maria Camper aged about twenty three years,
William Robinson Hill aged about eighteen years, Levin Hill aged
about nine years, James Hill aged about Six years, and Peter
Harrison hill aged about three years and that they are free born

State of Maryland      Be it remembered that the following Bond
             from Ex.d      was recorded on the 3.d day of June 1845, To wit:
Thomas Wingate         Know all men by these presents that we Thomas
& others                     Wingate, William B. Dail, James Bond Chaplain,
Samuel D. LeCompte, Levin Mowbray and John H. Hodson of Dorchester
County in the State of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the
State of Maryland in the full and just sum of Two thousand dollars
current money of the United States to be paid to the said State or its
certain Attorney; to the which payment well and truly to be made and
done we bind ourselves our heirs, executors and administrators jointly
and severally firmly by these presents.  Sealed with our seals and dated
this second day of June 1845.  The Condition of the above obligation is
such that if the above bounden Thomas Wingate shall well & truly
execute the office of Constable in Election District N.o 7 in all things
appertaining thereto and shall also well and truly account for all
monies placed in his hands for collection and shall also well and truly
pay all sums of money received by him then the obligation to be void
otherwise of full force and virtue in law.         Thomas Wingate      (seal)
