posesion by delivering to him the E H Akers one horse at the
sealing and delivering of these presents in the name of the
whole premises hereby granted bargained and sold or
mentioned or intended so to be unto the said William H.
Akers as aforesaid in witness whereof I hereunto set my
hand and seal this sixth day of January eighteen hundred

the above Bill of Sale or instrument of writing to be his
act and deed according to the acts of assembly in such

Marcellus D. Keene      Be it remembered that the following
Ex.d      from                bill of sale was recorded on the 11 Jany
Evans Gains                  anno domini 1843 to wit
Know all men by these presents that Evans Gains of Dorchester
county state of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of
sixty dollars current money to me in hand paid by Marcellus
D Keene of said county and state aforesaid at and before the
sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof
I the said Evans Gains do hereby acknowledge have granted
bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain
and sell unto the said Marcellus D Keene his executors administrators
and assigns all the goods hereinafter particularly
mentioned: that is to say one horse eight head of cattle
nine head of sheep six hogs one ox cart two ploughs two canoes
three axes three hoes one pair Oysters Rakes two Beds & furniture
three chairs one pot one oven one tea kettle 1 Grindstone crop
of wheat in the ground one fodder house one stack of
blade fodder fifteen Barrels corn the hundred pounds Bacon
and two plough chairs all and singular which said
goods and chattles are now remaining standing and
being in a certain tenement situate in Dorchester County
and now in the occupancy of he said Evans gains To have
and to hold all and singular the said goods house hold
stuff and furniture and other the premises above
bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to
be to the said Marcellus D Keene his executors administrators
and assigns forever; and I the said Evans Gains
