298. Glasses, lot Books and papers, 1 Compost, 1 pide calf, one cupboard, one cider mill, vegetables all the poultry, one clod roller, one Bridle & Saddle four chests and three Trunks, one pair small brass And Irons my right and title to three Horses in the hands of Hooper C. Hicks all which property is now in my possession To have and to hold the same described property above bargained and sold to the said Mary Sadler, her Executors, administrators and assigns forever to her and their only proper use & benefit. And I the said John H. Carroll, for myself, my Executors & administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents to the said Mary Sadler, her executors, Administrators and Assigns the said described property against me, my Executors and Administrators and Assigns & against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 12 day of May 1845. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of John H. Carroll (seal) Charles W. Brerewood Sam.l Abbott Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: On this 12 day of May 1845 before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County appears John H. Carroll and acknowledges the foregoing writing to be his Act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly in such case made & provided Charles W. Brerewood State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond was from Ex.d recorded on the 29.th day of May 1845, To wit: W.m Jackson Clerk Know all men by these presents that we William Jackson, William S. Jackson and James A. Stewart of Dorchester County are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of Five thousand dollars current money to be paid to the State of Maryland to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves, our and each of our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 29.th day of April in the year Eighteen hundred and forty five. The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound William Jackson shall well and faithfully perform the duties imposed upon him as Clerk of Dorchester County Court by the Act of Assembly passed at December Session eighteen hundred and forty four entitled "An Act imposing duties on promissory Notes, Bills of Exchange, Specialties, and other instruments of writing to and in paying the debts of the State" and shall well and faithfully pay into the Treasury of this State all sums of Money which he may receive by virtue thereof at the periods therein limited for that purpose then the above obligation to be void and of none effect or else to remain in full force and |
