241. paid by Hooper Rauleigh of the County and State aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Hooper Rauleigh his Executors and administrators and one grey Horse, one Bay Mare, one Black mare, two yokes of work Stears and yokes, one young Stear, five mil cows, three Heiffers, four calves, one Sow and pigs, seven shoats, ten Fatening Hogs, from Beds, Bedsteads and furniture and all the balance of Household and Kitchen furniture one Ox Cart, three ploughs, three Harrows and all the balance of Farming Utenshalls, all the crop of Indian Corn, about twenty one bushels of wheat one wheat Fan, one Corn Cradle, ten Stock of black fodder and fifteen head of Sheep, all of which property is now in my possession To have and to hold the same described property above bargained and sold to the said Hooper Rauleigh his executors and administrators and assigns forever to his and their only proper use and benefit And I the said Peter Carroll for myself my executors and administrators shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents to the said Hooper Rauleigh his executors, administrators and assigns the said described property against me, my executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever claiming the same or any part thereof. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the 26 day of October 1844. signed, sealed & delivered his in the presence of Peter x Carroll (Seale) James Moore mark Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: on this 26 day of October before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County appears Peter Carroll and acknowledges the within foregoing writing to be his act And deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided James Moore (L S) State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond was Ex.d from recorded on the 31 day of October 1844, To wit: William Jackson clk Know all men by these presents that we William & others Jackson, Thomas Breerwood and James K. Lewis of Dorchester County are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of thirteen thousand three hundred and thirty three dollars thirty three and one third cents current money to be paid to the said State of Maryland to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind |
