227. State of Maryland Be it remembered that the following Bond was recorded from Ex.d on the 10.th day of June 1844, To wit: William B. Dail Know all men by these presents that we William B. Dail George ^W^ Wingate of Dorchester County in the State of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the state of Maryland in the full and just sum of one thousand and seventy five dollars current money of the United States to be paid to the said state or its certain attorney; to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and each of us our and each of our heirs, executors and administrators jointly & severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this tenth day of June in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty four. The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden William B. Dail appointed Collector of the Direct Tax under the act of the Legislature of the state of Maryland passed the 10.th day of March 1842 Chapter 325 shall well and faithfully perform the duties required of him as Collector by the Act aforesaid or by law then the above obligation to be void or else to be and remain in full force and virtue in law. LeCompte, Joseph Bradshaw of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the state of Maryland in the full and just sum of twenty thousand five hundred and eighty one dollars and thirty cents current money of the United States to be paid to the said state or its certain attorney to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and each of us our and each of our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this tenth day of June in the year of Our Lord eighteen hundred and forty four The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound William B. Dail appointed Collector of the Direct Tax for Dorchester County shall well and faithfully execute the Office of Collector of the Direct Tax for said County and the several duties required of him by law and shall well and truly account for and pay over to the Treasury |
