and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Joseph
Nicols his executors administrators and assigns negro boys James aged eighteen
years of age and Nathan sixteen years old slaves for life in good health and entirety
sound and perfect  To have and to Hold all and singular the said negroes
James and Nathan above bargained and sold oe mentioned and intended so to be
to the said Joseph Nicols his executors administrators and assigns forever and I the
said William Howeth for myself my heirs executors and administrators all and
singular the said James and Nathan unto the said Joseph Nicols his executors
administrators and assigns against me the said Joseph Nicols his executors
and administrators and assigns against all and every person or persons whatever shall
and will warrant and forever defend by these presents  In witness whereof I have
hereto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this Fifteenth day of June one
thousand eight Hundred and forty three (1843

State of Maryland            Be it remembered that on this Fifteenth (15) day of
Dorchester County sc      June 1843 before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in
and for the state and county aforesaid personally appeared William Howeth
party to the within Indenture and acknowledged the said indenture to be
his act and deed                                             James Gould. J.P.


State of Maryland      Be it remembered that the following Bond was recorded
Ex.d      from             19th June 1843 to wit            June 12th 1843
Zebulon Booze          To William Jackson Esquire Clerk of Dorchester
County Court   Dear sir.  this is to inform you that I hereby resign the office
of Constable for Election district no 6       Yours Respectively
                                                                                        Isaac Dunnock

We the subscribers two Justices of the peace in and for Dorchester County by virtue
of a supplement to an act entitled an act for the establishment and regulation
of the Levy Courts in the several Counties of this state have appointed Zebulon
Booze Constable for Election District no 6 in the place of Isaac Dunnock
who has resigned      Witness our hands and seals this 15 day of June 1843

I know all men by these presents that we Zebulon Booze Hugh Wingate
and                        of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland are held
and firmly bound unto the state of Maryland in the full and just sum

said state or its certain Attorney to the which payment well and truly to
be made and done we bind ourselves our heirs executors & administrators
