bill), to provide the local education agencies
with an additional grant for each limited
English proficiency student.

36.01.02.02  Compensatory Education

In addition to the appropriation shown on
page 97 of the printed bill (first reading file
bill), to provide funds for grants to high
poverty schools based upon the number of
students in the school eligible for free or
reduced price lunch.

Object .12 Grants, Subsidies and
Contributions

General Fund Appropriation, provided that in the
administration of this program:

(1) County Boards shall submit to the State Board of
Education comprehensive plans to improve educational
achievement for students living in poverty at specific
schools to reduce or eliminate obstacles to the success of
those children. Under this appropriation a student living
in poverty means a student who qualifies for a free or
reduced lunch.
