30.01.02.09 Forestry Program

General Fund Appropriation, provided that
grants made to private landowners through
the Green Shores Buffer Incentive Program
shall not exceed an average of $300 per acre
and funds provided for printing may only be
expended on newsletters and flyers which
communicate the availability and benefits of
the Green Shores Buffer Incentive Program.

Further provided that the department
increase the emphasis of funds for the
Chesapeake Bay School Reforestation
Program, provided that $20,000 of this
appropriation for local Forestry Boards to
fund one school forest planting project per
county may be expended for that purpose
only. Funds unexpended at the end of the
fiscal year shall revert to the general fund
and provided further that an additional
$150,000 of this appropriation shall be used
for the planting of trees, grants for the
planting of trees, and volunteer
coordination for the planting of trees under
the Greenshores Buffer Incentive Program.

Funds are appropriated in the Department of
the Environment budget to pay for services
provided by this program. Authorization is
hereby granted to use these receipts as
special funds for operating expenses in this
program.
