Bill No. 75-1993

AN ACT to repeal Subtitle 4, "Sanctions Against South Africa," of Title 4, "Contracts,
Purchasing and Property" of the County Code which prohibited the County from
procuring supplies from the Republic of South Africa, and accepting bids from persons
doing business with South Africa; and to repeal Subtitle 2, "Investment, South Africa," of
Title 11, "Finance," of the County Code which prohibited the use of County public funds
to purchase certificates of deposits from financial institutions doing business with the
Republic of South Africa, and prohibited depositing County public funds with financial
institutions or business entities doing business with South Africa.

An Act to amend Section 11.300 of the Howard County Code to change the dollar
threshold for small purchases and to amend the Purchasing Code to change the dollar
thresholds for formal bidding, informal bidding, small purchases and small sales.

An Act amending the Purchasing Code to provide for equal business opportunity to
business enterprises conducting business with the County; establishing the Equal Business
Opportunity Commission, its membership, duties and responsibilities.

Bill No. 79-1993

An Act pursuant to the requirements of the Cable Television Consumer Protection and
Competition Act of 1992 and the regulations of the Federal Communications
Commission, requiring the holder of a Howard County cable television franchise to
provide prompt and efficient customer service, understandable and accurate billing, and
full information to all subscribers and providing for enforcement of these requirements.
